Introduction
After years of doing creative work under various umbrellas and freelance arrangements, I launched Ibis Creative as my own studio in 2021. It's been 5 years since that original site reveal and it was time for something new to share. The goal is to grow the studio with even more projects with the goal of addressing a need in my local community. More and more entities are jumping on the AI design bandwagon or Canva. While they can serve as great tools, sometimes you need a human touch for something more authentic. My role is to address that gap.
Who I am
I'm a Wyoming-based designer with a focus on brand identity, motion design, and visual communication. I've spent over 15+ working on projects all over the creative spectrum. Pretty much anything digital or print, I've had the pleasure of working on at some point. The through line across all of it has been a conviction that design, at its best, makes things clearer and more compelling.
What this blog will be
This blog is going to be a mix of things:
- Process notes on projects I'm working on (where I can share them)
- Design observations on work I find interesting in the world
- Tutorials on tools and techniques I use regularly
- Opinions on design culture, craft, and industry stuff
- News about things going on with the studio
I write when I have something worth saying. That means posts won't come on a schedule, but they'll be worth reading when they do.
What's coming
I'm in the middle of a few exciting projects right now that I'm excited to post about when they're finished. The portfolio on this site represents a selection of a few projects that I've had the opportunity to work on.
If you've got a project in mind, get in touch. I'm always interested in good problems to solve.
