The MFRC Ghosts are an army platoon specializing in drone and aerial vehicle operations. They came to me needing a patch design that could represent the unit as a whole while also acknowledging each of their four distinct specializations.
The design
The patch centers around a ghost motif tied to the unit's name, with four individual marks worked into the design to represent each specialization. Military patch design lives in its own visual tradition and it needs to be bold and readable at a small scale, carry a sense of identity and pride, and feel like something the unit would actually want to wear. That balance guided the design from start to finish.
