Commissioned looping animations for the LED display in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center
The LED display in the lobby of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center is not a typical screen. It's a large-scale, immersive, high-resolution installation that wraps around the corner of the space. The University of Wyoming Foundation brought me in to develop four looping animations for the display, each one built around a different story worth telling.
Cheers to 100 Years
The first piece was timed to coincide with Homecoming and centennial celebration. The concept centered around a timeline of historical photography that travels through each decade of the University's history, using the wraparound nature of the display to let the timeline literally turn the corner. It's a small thing, but designing with that physical dimension in mind rather than just treating it like a wide flat screen made the piece feel like it belonged in that space rather than just being placed there.
Cowboys in the NFL
The second animation is a tribute to every University of Wyoming player who has gone on to play in the NFL. The full roster of players cycles through as a dynamic list, but the piece reserves something special for players currently on active rosters. Each of those players gets their own individual animation, featuring photos in both their college and NFL jerseys, team helmets, and league branding.
Notable Alumni
The third piece shifts focus to the University's broader alumni legacy, spotlighting notable graduates across fields. With an installation this visible, sitting in the lobby of one of the University's most prominent buildings, the goal was to create something that felt worthy of the space and reflective of the University's reach and impact over the years.
Giving Day
This piece was designed around the 2023 Giving Day retro theme.
